While playing Skyrim and wondering which side in the civil war is closer to your heart, have you ever concluded that you don't identify with any of them and would rather lead your own faction that represents your ideals? If so, you are about to get the opportunity to realize that vision thanks to a modification called Conquest of Skyrim.
I found myself in the same predicament and I decided to go on a hunt to find the best mods that change factions in subtle and complex ways, to make the game feel a bit different in my next playthrough.

This mod makes it more difficult for the Dragonborn to join the College of Winterhold by adding specific requirements that truly make you worthy of forming part of such a prestigious institution. Train yourself in the various schools of magic and learn before joining an advanced learning institution.
Stand with your brothers and sisters, and claim the Commonwealth for the Brotherhood! This faction pack allows you to use the new Liberator function for Sim Settlements Conqueror to secure settlements by ridding them of invading raiders, gunners, and other scum. Establish outposts for your troops and claim vassals to support those outposts with food and supplies.
FactionsYou can play as The United States Army Loyalists who are Liberators and you can play as The United States Army Renegades who are Conquerors.You can select both factions to be in control of prebuilt settlements at the beginning of the game in the War options menu of Sim Settlements Conqueror. Just remember that if you pick both factions to be in control of prebuilt settlements don't try to play as either faction because you wont gain control over territory your selected faction controls, actually you'll end up creating a duplicate of the faction you selected so there will be 3 US Army Factions instead of 2. If you want one faction to control territory while you command the other put the conquerors in charge of the prebuilt settlements and then lead the liberators against them and vice/versa.

Conqueror Feral Auxiliaries are just your normal Feral Ghouls and they can only be warriors, but when spammed against the enemy in packs they become effective cannon fodder and they actually are pretty dangerous in their own right, use wisely. Faction RanksPrivateCorporalSergeantLieutenantCaptainCaptives and CiviliansCaptives of your factions will be wearing army Fatigues and Jumpsuits. Conqueror Captives will also be wearing explosive collars whereas Liberator captives will not be wearing Collars.Both Factions will have Doughboys (off duty soldiers) as their civilians. Renegade Doughboys are Ghouls who wear Fatigues whereas Liberator Doughboys are humans who wear Jumpsuits.Suggested ModsConsidering recruiting is relatively hard in this mod I will suggest some other mods which can make the game a bit easier when getting resources.Crafting Mastery (Crafting Workbenches updated) - this will allow you to craft the ammo you need to recruit and it will allow you to breakdown other ammo to build different ammo, just don't get the patch for Crafting Mastery and Sim Settlements because it will move all the stuff you can craft at the settlement manager table to another crafting table, it complicates things too much for me at least.PLUNDER - Survival Combat Overhaul - Generally makes the game more difficult on survival difficulty and adds a lot of loot to the game, I use the 0.9c version with the Non-Zombie Zombie Patch. The 10a version changes too much for my tastes but that download comes with two esp's, P.L.U.N.D.E.R.esp and P.L.U.N.D.E.R - Companions.esp, if you just want the companions esp too manually download version 10a, unpack it, then repack only the companions esp and add it to your mod manager.
DebriefingHere are your missions:Outpost raids - The basics. Eliminate all the inhabitants and secure the area with your troops.Vassal raids - Lately, our troops have been complaining about the lack of food and supplies. To rectify this, I need you to send your troops to the local settlements, eliminate their protection, and subdue the settlers.Capture Outposts - If you want to take a different approach (think about Bullet) clear out the opposing faction and capture the civilians. Your detachment will secure the area and put the POWs (Prisoners of War) to work.Dismissed!
Just build the War Planner's Desk and select to take an outpost for the Libertalia faction. They're set as conquerors, friendly only to the Raider Faction (although I plan on adding a custom faction for them eventually, maybe even switching out the NPCs at the original Libertalia location so that you can visit it without getting shot at by your supposed peers. For now, you can roleplay that you had enough of being stuck in an old, dingy shipwreck and decided to form your own crew.
Adds the Minutemen as a playable Liberator Faction, so you can be a General with some agency in your Army.5 Ranks, each with improved gear and weapons if their stationed settlement has an Armory, (Standard recruits have a 10mm and the Army's uniform)(You MUST have an Armory in your Soldiers' settlements in order for them to equip the next corresponding uniform)Level based on the players level! So theyll never be too weak and wont start too strong! (They'll be too weak in the early beginning though!)Feel too weak or don't like the getup? Equip your Soldiers with Armor and Weapons of your choosing!Soldiers will also display their rank Insignias on their collars, sleeves, and vests! Wow!Most commanders are promoted for being long time leaders of their respective settlements, and are tied to their homes!Companions can lead anywhere you like!37 Commanders, 9 Special Units, Matching Outfits and Ranks, and Much, Much More!Functionality with Militarized Minutemen + Rank/Insignia Addon (Ranks will be reflected by patches and insignias)9 Unique Soldiers to be hired! Uniform! Standard outfits across all Soldiers per rank, displaying the corresponding Rank Insignia, Patches, Vocation Tabs/Patches and Faction Patches, as well as Different Camos+Berets for Enlisted/Officers so you can tell them apart at a glance! (Counter intuitive but Variety)Even if you dont play as the minutemen and only use them as an opposing faction more appropriate uniforms and ranks are added to attackers/defenders!Contractors also come in more variety! Theyll show up in one of 15 (Fifteen!) Unique Outfits and have a variety of Weapons!There's a version which also makes the Bounty Hunters/Dogs a bit cooler but in turn require Niero's Mojave Manhunter and FadingSignal's Dog HarnessIf you use a mod which adds more variety to settlers, you'll also see more variety in your troops (ie something like Better Settlers, which adds tons more face presets + hairstyles, and mortal settlers for a much more immersive Settlement Defense interaction)!
Quest-line: I plan to develop a quest-line that will unlock all of the different types of creatures and give you the different plot types. This will be an on going development, that will take time. I will also have a version that will be released without the story for those that just want the faction for how it can be used by conqueror, it will probably be non-playable so that it doesn't clutter your menu.Plots: 2ff7e9595c
